Did you know that Imperia is divided in two areas by the Impero river? On the right there is Porto Maurizio, on the left there is Oneglia. And do you know what is typically said here in Borgo Marina? That Oneglia is really a beautiful city, because the "Ciantafurche" (so called by the “Portorini”, in mocking tone, because of a gallow in their city) can admire, from their windows, the Parasio and the Borgo Marina (alias Porto Maurizio). And the “Portorini”, how were they called then? "Cacelotti", a nickname deriving from the name of an executioner of the city.
Effectively, folk wisdoms hold a grain of truth. Why don’t you apply the saying "must try it to believe it!" and come to visit us? Borgo Marina, in Imperia, is the ideal place to spend your perfect holidays.

E i portorini, com’erano chiamati allora? "Cacelotti", soprannome che deriva, forse, dal nome di un boia della città.
